I finished this book few hours ago. What I must say? Why I hadn’t read it earlier?

I have this book on my shelf for about 2 months and I knew I’ll start it sooner or later. I was really tempted, but I have few boos to read before, so as I know that I have it, I was able to postpone the day I will start reading it. Anyhow, it came and now I can’t stop. I want the second book.

What I liked in this one? In the first pages I was able to see a map of the world from ACOTAR and I pretty much love maps of different worlds. The main character Feyre was described in an interesting way and her reason to kill the wolf was missing, or at least for me. I won’t hide that I didn’t liked her family and I was waiting to see who Tamlin is.

And talking about Tamlin… I like his character, but there was something that make me feel strange about him, I have no idea what. And probably this is the reason that I liked Rhysand way much more than Tamlin.

The story is very interesting. I like the plot and how the story line goes, but it was like pain to reed how stupid is Feyre and how she makes some wrong choices. But in the end of the book I somehow knew that it was for good.

The book ends very open and makes you want to take the second book right after to finish this one, but publishing date for Bulgarian version of „A Court of Mist and Fury“ is 28th May.

All in all, I liked the book a lot and I recommend it for the wide audience and fans of YA and fantasy.

General note: 9.5/10

Betsy Cornwell – Mechanica

Mechanica
Author: Betsy Cornwell
Publishing date: 25 August 2015
Publisher: Clarion Books
Status: to-read

Nicolette’s awful stepsisters call her “Mechanica” to demean her, but the nickname fits: she learned to be an inventor at her mother’s knee. Her mom is gone now, though, and the Steps have turned her into a servant in her own home.

But on her sixteenth birthday, Nicolette discovers a secret workshop in the cellar and begins to dare to imagine a new life for herself. Could the mysterious books and tools hidden there — and the mechanical menagerie, led by a tiny metal horse named Jules — be the key to escaping her dreary existence? With a technological exposition and royal ball on the horizon, the timing might just be perfect for Nicolette to earn her freedom at last.

Gorgeous prose and themes of social justice and family shine in this richly imagined Cinderella retelling about an indomitable inventor who finds her prince… but realizes she doesn’t want a fairy tale happy ending after all.

Status: to-read

As a Gracekeeper, Callanish administers shoreside burials, sending the dead to their final resting place deep in the depths of the ocean. Alone on her island, she has exiled herself to a life of tending watery graves as penance for a long-ago mistake that still haunts her. Meanwhile, North works as a circus performer with the Excalibur, a floating troupe of acrobats, clowns, dancers, and trainers who sail from one archipelago to the next, entertaining in exchange for sustenance.

In a world divided between those inhabiting the mainland (“landlockers”) and those who float on the sea (“damplings”), loneliness has become a way of life for North and Callanish, until a sudden storm offshore brings change to both their lives – offering them a new understanding of the world they live in and the consequences of the past, while restoring hope in an unexpected future.

Inspired in part by Scottish myths and fairytales, The Gracekeepers tells a modern story of an irreparably changed world: one that harbors the same isolation and sadness, but also joys and marvels of our own age.
