If you’d asked me a week ago, I would have told you that the best cupcakes were dark chocolate with chocolate cream cheese icing, that dancing in a crowd of magic wielders — the Adept — was better than sex, and that my life was peaceful and uneventful. Just the way I liked it.

That’s what twenty-three years in the magical backwater of Vancouver will get you — a completely skewed sense of reality. Because when the dead werewolves started showing up, it all unraveled… except for the cupcake part. That’s a universal truth.

My impression:
I bought this book long ago. It was one of the first books I bought for my Kindle. I dunno why I chose exactly this book, but I ended ordering it. After many months I was reading another books, finally this January I decided to start it. Fresh cover, and the title brings hunger to me every time I open the reader.

It is definitely very interesting story. I like the plot and the idea of mixing in a whole witches, shapeshifters and vampires. When i started reding at first, I thought that this is going to be another story with the shiny cool vampire. Well, it wasn’t. At the end of the first chapter I was so hungry I wanted to eat 30 cupcakes in a minute.

However, when the story began un unveil I was totally in. Every step was unexpected and every one was believed to be the murderer. And most of all, the hot guys described in the book was so imaginative, it was like I’m like a kid in a candy shop. xD

My most favorite character is not Jade (main character), but Desmond. I’m not sure why, but I still think that there is possibility of a love story between him and Jade. I think it would be awesome. Yes, I have to read the next 2 books. Soon!

The end and the denouement was not what I expected. For sure. And it made me curious what is going to happen in the next part.

All in all, fresh book and interesting story. It deserves your attention. If I’m able to buy paperback, I’m going to do it as well.

General note: 8/10
